History

Lakeland History of SwansTwo beautiful swans were a gift to Lakeland from Queen Elizabeth of England in 1937.  Since then, they have been raised and cared for at Historic Lake Morton.  80 descendants currently reside here and are enjoyed and fed daily by the citizens of Lakeland.  The swan is the symbol of Lakeland and can be found in many forms of artwork and sculptures throughout the city.
